Pinhole glasses have a black grill with holes instead of a lens, so they don't have prescription.
You can see clearly because the rays of light only enter through the holes perpendicularly to the cornea as in normal vision.
They’re a good training aid because each eye concentrates through one hole at a time. We see more clearly while we use them and they encourage eye movement, and also promote the central
fixation and relaxation so we’re practicing Natural Eyesight.
Always you feel comfortable, you can wear your pinhole glasses instead your usual corrective lenses.
There are different shapes and sizes of holes. They can
be cylindrical or round, pyramidal or conical.
-
Pyramidal holes are helpful to filter sunlight. They are especially suitable for people with prescriptions between +4 and -4 diopters, with
any eye refraction condition like myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and tired eyesight. They are more comfortable for people with tired eyesight or low myopia, and good for near vision
tasks such as reading, writing and using a computer.
-
Conical holes also are helpful for filtering sunlight. They are especially suitable for people between +4 and -4 diopters with any eye
refraction condition like myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and tired eyesight. But, in contrast to pyramidal holes, they are more comfortable with myopias of -2 diopters or more and
in astigmatism. Useful for all situations eg: cinema, television, or indeed, close-up tasks.
-
With smaller holes: Useful in high myopias, it gives more sharpness and it helps to focus better. It is necessary to use them in good light because the
small holes reduce it.
Pinhole glasses are also available for kids.
Pinhole glasses are not appropriate for driving,
undertaking rapid activities or sports, or poorly-lit situations, because peripheral vision is limited.
You can get them in our workshops and retreats.
